This is why we came. To plant nutrient rich plants and help these people fight off disease and starvation | ||
| We provided gardens at a ratio of 12 plants per garden. Green Onion, Cabbage, Spinach & Green Pepper | |||
| We provided a minimum of 4 gardens per household. More depending on the number of people in the household. | |||
Our team worked closely with local people to demonstrate how to plant and grow their gardens. |
In the U.S.A. we turn on a hose. Some of these people travel more than a mile to bring back water to drink and feed the garden. Each seedling takes 1 cup of water twice a day to grow. There are no hoses here. |
A distribution point for many Homesteads. These people will take the plants home and plant their gardens. |
Protecting the seedlings and seeds from birds and heat. |
All the Children worked very hard to provide suitable ground for the schools gardens. |
This young man was particularly eager to grow a garden. All of these students get 1 meal per day. |
These students taking a well deserved rest to watch their onions grow |
After negotiating with the School Master, we were allowed to return and plant many gardens for this elementary school. |
