Steps of Faith Publishing Dream for Africa 2005 Sunday Church |

This is the building where we atteded Church on Sunday. The Church where our host pastor Themba is the Youth Pastor. His Father is the Sr. Pastor. The entrance is on the end to the right with the Pulpit at the left end. A simple structure with hand split tree sections as the wall. Inside there is some flattened cardboard lining the wall to help prevent the wind from blowing through. The floor is concrete and the roof is metal. There is one simple split rail bench lining the walls of the building. As we aproached the building we heard the most Heavenly singing and harmony's I have ever heard coming from inside. Outside the door were all the shoes of everyone inside. We removed our shoes out of respect and were told we didn't have to do that. But we did anyway. We were escorted to the front of the sanctuary where the Pastor was standing. The men all wore uniforms of white jackets with blue belts and the ladies all had blue dresses with white trimming. They did this to show respect to God. Our Host Themba left and would return in a few minutes with his uniform on. The singing continued. I believe there were Angels in that Sanctuary. Without a single instrument other than their voices they sang in their native tounge to perfection and obviously naturally. Some of the young men kept the beat by creating drum beats verbally complete with brushed symbols. All of the younger children were standing in the center of the building. Truely a Sanctuary of God. By comparison most of our praise and worship do not hold a candel to this. |

The Adult Choir. These crosses were hand carved from a special type of wood found on a tree far up in the mountains. They are very symbolic to their worship |

Themba and the Elders of the Church Lay Hands and pray for the offering that day.
There was not one person in the service that failed to give something. Very little for most but all gave for the Glory of God |

The Pastor in the Sanctuary after the service. The boxes are spread over the floor to protect the holy floor. During the worship service the cardboard was removed to allow all to move opon the holy floor of the Sanctuary. |

After the service we were treated to a Feast provided by out hosts. There was chicken, rice, beans, vegetables. We were made to feel like royalty by their hospitality. These people who have so little were willing to give so much to us. We can learn much from these wonderful people. |
