I am Steven Reid DBA (doing business as)"Steps Faith Publishing" and I am going to attempt to bring you up to date on my life as a Christian Photographer.

It all began somewhere around the age of 9 or 10 when I was fascinated by the workings of a "Brownie" camera with a built-in flash. Black and white was the film of choice somewhere in the early 1960's and so the saga began. Not too many rolls of film were allowed then as I didn't have a job yet to afford to buy what was necessary, but I still have a handful of those original images to look back on and remember the dreams of my childhood. Time moved forward until the age of 16 when the photography bug struck again, only this time with more intensity and strength. My parents bought me my first 35mm camera for Christmas and away I went.

From there I found myself working for a newspaper/printing company (my first real job). While learning the in's and out's of a printing press I was also learning more about the photo and printing darkrooms. All of this kept me busy after school. Then I began to shoot some assignments and freelance photos that actually got published. Some were even pretty good. During this time when not working I was using that $1.85 per hour part-time wage to travel to the mountains to shoot pictures. This continued until the age of 23 . The photo trips became much less frequent, and for a time, not at all.

For the better part of 15 years, I hardly shot an image. My mother, who had been my greatest fan, passed away. In my way of mourning, I began again to take the trips to the mountains and take pictures. I began to see  things in the images that I had only seen in other's images and this became a struggle. What to do with the images now and continue to Glorify God. After all most of the subjects were created by him for all of us to appreciate.

One day I was working on the computer with some images, (playing actually), when I inserted the scripture into the "Ladybug" photograph. "Wow," I thought. That was in 2001 while living in Colorado. It is now 2005 and here we are. Through the last 4 years I have prayerfully worked on the images you see here. Some are very old images and some are very new. All are all inspirations from our Living Lord Jesus Christ.

During this time I have shown this work at art shows with very positive returns and feedback. Check the Calender for dates and times of future shows.

So why a "Publishing" company as opposed to just a "Photographer"? As I worked with the images I realized that I could create bookmarks, business cards, note cards and many other items that could be used in many applications. I felt strongly that with this many options, as well as some I am sure I haven't thought of yet, the business should become a "Publishing Company".

Why "Steps of Faith"? That is what I do every time I take a step with this business. It is started on faith in God that" ..His word does not go forth void... and in all things give Him all the praise and glory."

I have made a promise to God that all of these images He has so graciously given will only be used to bring glory to Him. For this reason, These "Fine Art" Images will be embedded with Biblical Scripture. I hope you enjoy them here and in your home or office as much as I enjoy the blessing of providing them for you. God really does grant us the desires of our hearts.
